We are a UK-based not-for-profit organisation committed to a world in which every person has the opportunity to earn a living.
To achieve this vision, we focus on providing opportunities, not aid, and our efforts are geared towards developing countries – initially Uganda. We work in partnership with trusted local authorities, community groups and individuals to help the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Our mission is to create self-sustaining communities. We recognise the rights of marginalised and disadvantaged children, individuals and their families to take responsibility for their own development and independence with dignity and self respect – critical factors that can be lost when aid is provided instead of opportunities.
Why support us?
- 100% of your donation goes to the people who need it. There are no UK overheads – every penny you give is used on the ground in Uganda to provide food and essential medical care, and to operate our programmes.
- People not programmes – because your donation helps individuals, not faceless aid programmes, you can see the huge personal difference your gift makes.
- We only work with and through established and trusted not-for-profit partners that we know personally.
- We personally know every child, young person and adult who benefits from our work, and regularly share their news with our supporters.
- We are driven by personal commitment, and have direct, on-the-ground experience.
- All of our key UK personnel have visited Kabale – entirely at their own personal expense – and met with our end beneficiaries and NGO partners. Our two founder trustees spend most of their time in Uganda supporting the in-country team.
