After eight hectic weeks, the team from Slovenia have won the race for the street children home. The Amasiko Halfway House in Kable, Uganda is complete!
The last day of building was on Monday, at the end of which a party was held to celebrate a job very well done. We were honoured at the end of build party to receive the Chairman of the district council, the Vice-Chairperson, Head of LC3, local ministers responsible for the environment, education and sport and the probation officer. All of the Government officials were effusive in their praise for the project and the building work carried out by the team from the University of Ljubljana.
Thank you is not sufficient to express our gratitude to the amazing team from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia for making this dream come true. The best way to express how we feel is to make a success of this project, so for those of us remaining in Kabale the hard work is just beginning as we add the finishing touches to the building, erect the perimeter fence, build furniture, start the landscaping and generally prepare to open the doors of this much-needed facility for the street children.

The best way to express how we feel is to make a success of this project, so for those of us still in Kabale the hard work is just beginning as we complete the last of the building tasks, equip the centre, build the perimeter fence, landscape the ground and prepare to open the doors to the street children of Kabale.
